Research Group
Our research group at Augusta University studies the mathematical foundations of machine learning and optimization, with an emphasis on reliable learning and decision-making under uncertainty.
Research Areas
- Machine learning and artificial intelligence: Foundations of learning, generalization, adaptation, and generative modeling.
- Optimization and game theory: Algorithms and theory for continuous, discrete, and adversarial optimization.
- Reinforcement learning and decision-making: Learning to act and adapt through interaction with uncertain environments.
- Statistical inference and information theory: Estimation, testing, sequential inference, and the limits of learning from data.
- Distributed and federated learning: Learning and coordination across multiple agents, devices, and data sources.
- Robust and trustworthy learning: Reliability under uncertainty, distribution changes, and adversarial conditions.
